HELP!!!

ASSIGNMENT: Now that you have finished reading Act Two, answer the following questions (which should also be good to help study/prepare for the Act 2 test).

1.Explain Juliet's statement (make sure you are thorough):

"Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo."

2. Romeo uses lots of 'flowery' romantic language when describing Juliet. Select one of the vivid sentences he uses, put it into your own words...how is he describing her?

3. When Juliet is initially saying goodnight, she advises Romeo that this love is 'too rash, too unadvised.' What does she mean? Do you agree? Does she 'stick with' this proclamation or change her mind? Why?

4. Compare and Contrast Romeo and Juliet with each other in Act Two...how are they similar? Different?

5. We have been working with vocabulary: find ONE example of either metaphor, personification or oxymoron. Copy the line(s) and EXPLAIN your example thoroughly. Don't just 'label' it and say, it's a metaphor, or something. Explain the example and how it's being used.

6. What kind of relationship do Romeo and Friar Laurence have? Support your answer with details from the text.

7. Explain the PARADOX of calling the earth a 'womb' and a 'tomb.' What does the Friar mean by that?

8. What does the Friar mean when he tells Romeo that "Young men's love then lies not truly in their hearts, but in their eyes." Why does he say this to Romeo?

9. Focusing on this Act (you can use anything from Act Two)...provide ONE personality trait for Romeo (besides fickle) and then support it with details from the Act.

10. Focusing on this Act (you can use anything from Act Two)...provide ONE personality trait for Juliet and then support it with details from the Act.
