Which value of x makes the equation shown below true? 2 x + 7 = -10

-17 / 2

Explanation:

First, find out what x is:

2x + 7 = -10

2x = -10 - 7

2x = -17

x = -17 / 2

I'm not sure if there's a mistake on the question, but if you plug in every number none of them work. Maybe try talking it out with your teacher!

If you plug in -34 you get -61 = -10.

If you plug in 34 you get 75 = -10.

If you plug in 6 you get 19 = -10.

If you plug in -6 you get 5 = -10.
