We can see here that the shapes:
1. Scale factor = 3 - Similar
2. Scale factor = 1.333 - Similar
3. Scale factor = 2 - Congruent
4. Scale factor = 3 - Similar
What is scale factor?
A scale factor is a ratio that describes how the dimensions of an object are changed when it is enlarged or reduced proportionally. It is the ratio of any two corresponding lengths in two similar geometric figures.
We see here that for each one, we have:
1. Scale factor = 12/4 = 9/3 = 6/2 = 3
2. Scale factor = 8/6 = 4/3 = 12/9 = 1.333
3. Scale factor = 10/5 = 2
4. Scale factor = 3/1 = 9/3 = 3/1 = 3
