In the figure, the area of the shaded part is 37.7 square units

How to find the area of the shaded part

Area of the shaded portion is solved as using the formula

area of bigger circle - area of smaller circle

area of bigger circle

= π R²

where R is radius

From the figure radius of the bigger circle is equal to diameter of the smaller circle.. So R = 4 and r = 2

area of bigger circle

= π 4²

= 16π

area of smaller circle

= π 2²

= 4π

Area of shaded part

= 16π - 4π

= 12π

= 37.7 square units
