Explain how removal of one trophic level impacts the rest of the trophic levels. For example, how are 3rd level consumers affected by a decrease in primary consumers?

The removal of one trophic level can offset an entire ecosystem by reducing food sources or creating overpopulation. For example, by removing 2nd level consumers there will be a significant increase in primary consumers who now have to compete with one another at a more competitive level since there is a lot more consumers and a stagnant amount of producers.
Hope this helps :)
