Explanation:

Two ways to do this problem.

Method 1 change the Method 2 If a linear equation is in

equation to slope-intercept form standard form, ax =by = c then

8x - 6y = 1 the slope = -a/b

-6y = -8x + 1 In 8x - 6y = 1 a = 8 and b = -6

y = (-8x)/-6 +1/-6 So m = - (8)/-6 = 8/6 = 4/3

m = -8/-6= 4/3

Note: Method 2 only works if the equation is in standard form.
