Let the trapezium be B.

Draw a line from the top of the trapezium to it's base and call the triangle formed B.

The base of is 2cm (8cm - 6cm

The area of the triangle = 40cm² ( 5cm x 4cm x 2cm)

Area of the trapezium =. ½ (base x height)

. = 18cm²

Add area of trapezium and triangle.

 = 40cm² + 18cm² = 58cm²
