The data would fit a linear model. However, the data fits an exponential model better .

A linear model would best fit a plot whose data takes a straight line trend rather than a curve. From the graph of the data obtained , the first data point at the bottom doesn't perfectly align with the straight pattern of the other data points.

This means that while the data fits a linear model, an exponential model would fit the data better.

A graphical example of an exponential model is also attached .
