18x² + 48x - 50

Explanation:

Area of rectangle = width x length

Area of square = width²

Therefore, area of park not occupied by the turtle park would be the area of the rectangular park MINUS the area of the turtle pond:

= (3x + 7)(6x + 2) - 8²

= 18x² +42x + 6x + 14 - 64

= 18x² + 48x - 50
