3x+2y=21

•add -2y to both sides
3x+2y=21
-2y -2y
3x= -2y+2y
•then divide both sides by 3
3x/3 = -2y+21/3
•your answer:
x=-2/3y+7


x-4y=-7

•add 4y to both sides
x-4y=-7
+4y +4y
•your answer:
x=4y-7
