A tree that is 13 feet tall is growing at a rate of 4 feet each year. A different tree that is 27 feet tall is growing at a rate of 1/2 feet each year. At this rate, when will the trees be the same height? What will the height of the trees be?

(Also I need help before 3 pm it’s 1:21 pm btw) PLEASE HELP

Explanation:

After t years,

 the first tree will be 13+4t feet tall

 the second tree will be 27+½t feet tall.

When they are the same height,

13+4t = 27+½t

subtract ½t from both sides

13+3½t = 27

subtract 13 from both sides

3½t = 14

divide both sides by 3½

t = 14÷(3½) = 14÷(7/2) = 14× (2/7) = 4

The trees will be the same height in 4 years.
