x = -7/2

or can be written,

x = -3.5

Explanation:

25 is a power if 5 and so is 1/5. If you can write both sides as 5 to "some" power. Then the equation is just getting those two exponents equal. See image.

 Using logarithms is a nice shortcut. But then you need need a calculator. See image.
