Explanation:

Slope: The change of y over the change of x, rise/run.

Formula- (y2-y1) / (x2-x1)

You would need to use two coordinates on the graph. I used (-4, -2) and (-8,3).

  1. You subtract -2 from 3 [3 - (-2)] to get 5
  2. You then subtract -4 from -8 [-8 - (-4)] to get -4

When you are writing the slope you always put the difference of Y as the numerator and put the difference of X as the denominator.

Therefore, the slope is 5/-4.

Y-Intercept: the point at which the line intersects the y-axis. It can be found by looking for the number on the y-axis that has the line running through it.
