When moving a negative number to the other side of an equal sign and changing it from multiplication to division, does it stay negative?

This is a grade 9 q btw, not 10

Answer:

yes, it stays negative.

Explanation:

-4x = 12

x = 12/-4

x = -3

(-4)*(-3) = 12
