Answer

$1.13 per pair.

Step-by-step explanation

There are 12 gloves in a dozen, so if you buy 3 dozen pairs you would have 36 pairs of gloves. To find what each pair costs you want to divide $40.68 by $13.56 giving you $1.13 dollars per pair. The problem was, the contractor just divided $40.68 by 3 since there was 3 dozen gloves, not counting all the pairs in total.
