Explanation:

you the x and the y intercepts!

the X intercept is (4,0) and the Y intercept is (0,-2)

and in having those two intercepts, it made solving for the slope a whole lot easier!!!

heres what you do:

-2 - 0 = -2

0 - 4 = -4

and that can be simplified down to 1/2 :D
