Answer:x=5/4

Explanation:

3x + 3y = 4

x - 3y = 1

shift unwanted numbers to the other side

x=1+3y

3y becomes + because the negative- changes to + plus when being shifted to the other side.

Above given x is 3

combined the two equations Put 3 in x

[3(1 + 3y) + 3y = 4]

3x1 + 3x3y +3y=4

3+9y +3y=4

3 + 12y=4

12y= 4-3

12y=1

y=1/12

bring back the top formula

x=1+3y

x=1+3/1/12

3x 4=12

x=1+4/4

x=5/4
