Answer:

Y= 9.8
we can fit 288 boxes in the containers

Explanation:

first question:
the surface area is going to be the area of each face of the shape
every face has a double that is opposite
first face is going to be 3*5 = 15
there is 4 faces with the same portions and its up and down, right and left 4 faces = 4*15 = 60 cm2
we are left with only 2 faces which is the front and back
so 158-60 = 98cm
98 cm equals the area of the front face + the back face
dividing by 2 to get only the area of one face = 49
the equation to get the area of this face is Y*5= 49
dividing by 5 the answer should be Y = 9.8

second question:
we will divide every portion of the box on the container's portions to get the maximum amount of boxes that fit
remember 1 m = 100cm
(50*50*50)/(150*400*600)
by simplifying
(1*1*1)/(3*8*12)= 1/288
we can then switch it to get the number of how many boxes you can fit inside the container which is 288
