Multiply the number outside of the brackets with numbers in the bracket on LHS.

⇛2x + 6 = x - 4

Shift all variables on LHS and constant on RHS, changing it's sign.

⇛2x - x = -4 -6

Subtract the number on LHS and RHS.

x = -10

Therefore, x = -10
