Answer: After world war two US had to work on transitioning back to peace time. Many companies that had started to make weapons and equipment for troops went back to producing things like home goods. Ford motors stopped producing cars in 1942 and started back up in 1945 after the war as they produced tanks and small arms. But after that was situated the US economy started to skyrocket. The US also joined not even 5 years later into the Korean War. Along with this the US had to deal with tensions with China and Russia following WW2 and dealing with the surrender of Germany and Japan as well.
