Find the equation of a line that passes through the points (-1,3) and (3,-5).

Leave your answer in the form y = mx + c

i'm pretty sure that it's y=-2x+1

Explanation:

first we solve for the slope of the line:

we have the points (-1,3) and (3,-5). So we write an equation like so:

3 - -5

-1 - 3

3/-1 - -5/3. solving that, you get 8/-4, and 8 divided by -4 is -2, so thats our slope.

now all we've got to do is get the y intercept. the way i found it was i graphed the line, put a dot on the points that we have ( (-1,3) and (3,-5) ) and you should

get 1 as the point on the y axis. again, i myself am not a pro or anything so if its not the correct answer i am so sorry. <3
