Simplest answer I can give u is that “nutrient-dense” is when a food has an abundance of calories yet it has no sighting of nutritional value.

Ex: foods like kale, bell peppers, broccoli, sweet potato, tomato, strawberries.

Answer: empty calories comes from it refers to foods that provide a lot of calories without much nutritional value.

Ex: nutrient-dense foods include fruits and vegetables, whole grains, low-fat or fat-free milk products, seafood, lean meats, eggs, peas, beans, and nuts.
