The diameter of a tire is 2.5 ft. Use this measurement to answer parts a and b. Please show all work.

A. Find the circumference of the tire.
B. About how many times will the tire have to rotate to travel 1 mile? (1 mile = 5,280 ft)

Answer:

the circumference is 5, since the diameter is half, so you have to double 2.5 to get 5. 2.5 + 2.5 = 5

if the tire rotates 1 time and gains 5 feet, we have to divide 5 from 5,280. So...

5,280 ÷ 5 = 1056

it rotates 1056 times to get to 1 mile!
