Each person would receive 0.3 of a pound of jelly beans.

We can calculate the number of pounds of jelly beans each person will receive by Dividing the total amount of jelly beans by the number of people

Given:

Total amount of jelly beans = 9/10 of a pound

Number of people to share the jelly beans = 3 (Joey and his 2 friends)

We shall calculate in this way:

(9/10 of a pound) / 3:

= 9/10 ÷ 3

0.9/3 = 0.3 pounds

Hence, each person will receive 0.3 pounds of jelly beans.
