The graph of the linear inequality y > 2x + 3 is added as an attachment

Sketching the graph of the function

From the question, we have the following parameters that can be used in our computation:

y > 2x + 3

The above function is a linear inequality that has been transformed as follows

  • Vertically stretched by a factor of 2
  • Shifted up by 3 units

To plot the graph of the equation, we set x to some values (say x = 0, 1, 2 and 3), then we calculate the y values

So, we have

x = 0: y > 2(0) + 3 = 3

x = 1: y > 2(1) + 3 = 5

x = 2: y > 2(2) + 3 = 7

x = 3: y > 2(3) + 3 = 9

This means that the graph of the function passes through the points (0, 3), (1, 5), (2, 7) and (4, 9)

And the upper region is shaded because of the inequality sign

Next, we plot the graph using a graphing tool by plotting the ordered pairs and draw a line that passes through them

The graph of the function is added as an attachment
