A graph of straight line is given to us and we need to find out the slope and the y intercept of the line.

  • Here we can see that the line cuts the y axis at (0,2) . Hence the y intercept of the line is 2 .


\longrightarrow y intercept = 2

Again , we can see that the line cuts x axis at (1,0). So we can find the slope(m) of the line as ,


\longrightarrow\sf m= (y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)


\longrightarrow m = (0-2)/(1-0)


\longrightarrow m = -2/1


\longrightarrow m = -2

Hence the slope of the line is -2 and the y intercept is 2 .
