Although Brittain won the war and gained territory, they were faced in an immense debt, to recover their debt they began taxing colonies which angered them. Even with the territory they found they didnt allow settlers to cross it and pushed out settlers who were already settled there. These lead to a tense relationship between the 2 sides as the colonists were angry with Brittain's tyranny control and the fact they had no representation in any of this.
