How many full laps around the school does he run? What fraction of a lap is left over?

4 full laps

1/2 of a lap left over

Explanation:

2/3 = 0.667 miles

3 miles/0.667 miles = 4.5

4.5 = 4 whole laps

0.5 = 1/2 so 1/2 of a lap left over
