Distance is the total length of the path an object takes from its starting point to its ending point. It doesn't consider direction, so it's a scalar quantity. If you walk 5 meters east and then 5 meters west, your total distance is 10 meters. Displacement, on the other hand, is the shortest distance from the starting point to the ending point, considering direction. It's a vector quantity. In the above example, your displacement would be 0 meters, because you ended up where you started. So, while distance measures the ground covered, displacement focuses on the net change in position. ‍♀️➡️‍♀️⬅️
