Answer:

x= 2 or x= -3

Explanation:

Bring the equations together using a common denominator (x-5) (x+7)

x-29/(x-5) (x+7)= 1

Multiply both sides by (x-5) (x+7)

x- 29= (x-5) (x+7)

x- 29= (x-5) (x+7)= x^2 + 2x - 35

-x^2 - x + 6 = 0

-(x-2)(x+3)= 0

Multiply both sides by -1

(x-2)(x+3)= 0

Split it into two equations

x-2= 0 or x+3= 0

x= 2 or x= -3
