Answer:

y = 5x + 16

Explanation:

You need the slope and the y-intercept to write the line of the equation.

Slope change in y over change in x. An ordered pair is in the form (x,y) Subtract the y's on top of a fraction and subtract the x's on the bottom of a fraction.

(-4,3) (-5,-2)

(-2 -3)/(-5 - -4) =
(-5)/(-5+4) =
(-5)/(-1) = 5

The slope is 5

y-intercept:

Use one of the points. I am going to use the point (-4,3) and the slope.

Slope = 5

y value = 3

x value = -4

y=mx + b

-4 = 5(-4) + b

-4 = -20 + b Add 20 to both sides

16 = b

y = 5x + 16
