For mammals living in cold habitats, would smaller or larger species require relatively thicker fur?.

Answer: Smaller species would have a greater need for thicker fur

Explanation: Bigger animals have a bigger surface area to volume ratio meaning they will not lose heat to the outside as much as a smaller animal who would have a smaller ratio. I think that would mean that the smaller animal would be in greater need of a thicker coat to help them stay warm.
