Explanation:

Area of the shaded region = area of the outer circle - area of the inner circle

Area of circle is given as πr²

Radius of inner circle = 11 cm

Area of outer circle = 17 cm

π = 3.14

Thus:

Area of shaded region = 3.14*17² - 3.14*11²

= 907.46 - 379.94

= 527.52 cm²
