to convert molecule to gram you have to convert molecules to mols first.

Using Avocado's number we can figure that out.

(1.63 x 10²³ molecules C8H18) (1 mol C8H18/ 6.022 x 10²³) = 0.271 mols C8H18

Then we convert mols to grams using the molar mass of C8H18

C - 8(12.011) = 96.088 g/mol

H - 18(1.008) = 18.144 g/mol

add that together: 114.232 g/mol

(0.271 mol C8H18) (114.232 g/ 1 mol C8H18) = 31.0 g
