To find the triangle, we must first find the height of it. To get that, we take the length of the blue line (the height of the entire figure), and subtract the height of the rectangle (9.6 cm) to get a height of 5.7 cm for the triangle. the area formula for a triangle is 1/2 of the base multiplied by the height. To get the base of the triangle, we add the base of the rectangle to the parts of the triangle that hang past it (6.2 cm in total). 6.2 + 12.8 gives us 19 cm. Now we have (19 x 9.6) divided by 2 to give us 91.2 cm². The area formula for a quadrilateral is just the base (12.8 cm) multiplied by the height (9.6 cm), to give us 122.88 cm². Add the area of the rectangle to the area of the triangle to get our answer, 214 cm².
