Step-by-step explanation:

The air outside the cup has a high temperature as compared to that of the cold water with in the cup.

As this hot and moist air it comes in contact of cup, it transfers its heat energy and become cool itself thereby leaving water droplet on the outer side of the cup.

Due to heat imparted to the cup, the atoms with in the cup and cold water starts vibrating and hence there kinetic energy increase.
