Subject: Traffic Concern

Dear Principal Miller,

As you know, the main entrance to the high school is on Main Street. This road becomes jammed at the beginning of the school day. The traffic is lined up all the way to the light at Main Street and Blake Lane, and it is a very short light. The green light for traffic turning from Blake Lane to Main Street is especially short. It takes at least 20 minutes just to get through this light. As a result, students are often late getting to their first class in the morning. In addition, drivers are tempted to go through yellow or red lights since so few cars get through. I did some research and found that there have been three accidents in the last month alone. Although these have all been minor collisions, they create major delays and a safety hazard for students trying to get to school.

I hope that you will look into these issues before there is a more serious accident.

Sincerely,

Joanna Mason
Senior at Blake High School

Final answer:

The email aims to highlight the traffic light timing issue at the school's Main Street entrance, causing delays and safety concerns. So the correct answer is Option C.

Step-by-step explanation:

The purpose of the email written by Joanna Mason to Principal Miller is to introduce a problem with the timing of traffic lights at the high school's main entrance on Main Street. Joanna explains that the traffic jams caused by the short green light at the intersection are leading to students being late and increasing the risk of accidents. She urges the principal to look into these issues to prevent a more serious accident.
