I'm doing a math test, and I don't understand this question. How many 1/3 inch cubes does it take to fill a box with width 2 2/3 inches, length 3 1/3 inches, and height of 2 1/3 inches?

Answer: 62

Explanation:

First and foremost, we have to calculate the volume of the box which will be:

= 2 2/3 × 3 1/3 × 2 1/3

= 8/3 × 10/3 × 7/3

= 560/27

= 20 20/27

The number of 1/3 inch cubes needed to fill the box will then be:

= 20 20/27 ÷ 1/3

= 560/27 ÷ 1/3

= 560/27 × 3

= 560/9

= 62 2/9

Therefore, 62 boxes can be filled
