Pythagorean theorem:

In a right triangle, a and b are the lengths of the legs and c is the length of the hypotenuse.
If a = 2 meters and b = 6 meters, what is c? If necessary, round to the nearest tenth.

The formula is a^2 + b^2 =c^2
So we know a is 2 and b is 6
So we set it up as 2^2 + 6^2 = c^2
2 squared is 4 and 6 squared is 36 so now the equation is 4+36=c^2
Add to get 40=c^2
Get square root
C=6.3245 and now you just round it unfortunately I forgot how to round
