The equation of the line is y = -3/4x + 1.25

Using the parameters given for our Calculation;

  • Slope = -3/4
  • Point (-1, 2)

Using the slope-intercept form of a linear equation;

  • y = bx + c
  • b = slope ; c = intercept

We've been given (x, y) and b , we can find c thus ;

2 = -3/4(-1) + c

2 = 3/4 + c

c = 2 - 3/4

c = 1¼ = 1.25

Now the equation becomes;

  • y = -3/4x + 1.25

Hence, the equation is y = -3/4x + 1.25
