The school cafeteria sells two kinds of wraps: vegetarian and chicken. The vegetarian wrap costs $1.00 and the chicken wrap costs $2.50. Today they made $191.50

from the 103 wraps sold. How many of the wraps sold were vegetarian?

v+2.5c=191.5 and c+v=103, so c=103-v, using this c in first equation gives you

v+2.5(103-v)=191.5

v+257.5-2.5v=191.5

-1.5v=-66

v=44

So 44 vegetarian wraps were sold.
