By using the the given linear function rule, the INPUT/OUTPUT Table should be completed as follows;

| INPUT | | RULE | | OUTPUT |

0 y = -2(0)+1 1

1 y = -2(1)+1 -1

2 y = -2(2)+1 -3

3 y = -2(3)+1 -5

4 y = -2(4)+1 -7

In order to use the given linear function y = -2x + 1 to complete the table, we would have to substitute each of the values of x (x-values) into the linear function and then evaluate as follows.

When the value of x is 0, the linear function is given by;

y = -2x + 1

y = -2(0) + 1

y = 1

When the value of x is 1, the linear function is given by;

y = -2x + 1

y = -2(1) + 1

y = -1

When the value of x is 2, the linear function is given by;

y = -2x + 1

y = -2(2) + 1

y = -3

When the value of x is 3, the linear function is given by;

y = -2x + 1

y = -2(3) + 1

y = -5

When the value of x is 4, the linear function is given by;

y = -2x + 1

y = -2(4) + 1

y = -7
