Here’s an example,

She lay on the floor helplessly. Her heart felt as if it were glass and somebody had dropped it. Her face crumbled, “Life was meaningless!” She thought while curling up into a ball.

As you can see, while writing that, I had used a Simile. ‘Her heart felt as if it were glass and somebody had dropped it.’ I chose to use ‘as’. In order for it to be a simile, it must contain ‘like’ or ‘as’.

ok so a similie is anything that uses like or as for example - a room without books is like a body without a soul

as u can see we used like in a sentence so there for it is a similie not to get it confused to a metaphore where your comparing two seperate things
