The values of x and y, obtained using the linear pair property and the angle sum property of a triangle are;

x = 25, y = 10

The details of the solution are as follows;

The parallel lines indicates that we get; 2·x + 3·y + 4·x = 180

2·x + 3·y + 100 = 180 (Angles forming a line)

Comparison, we get;

100 = 4·x

x = 100/4

x = 25

Therefore;

2·x + 3·y + 4·x = 180

2 × 25 + 3·y + 4 × 25 = 180

3·y = 180 - (2 × 25 + 4 × 25)

180 - (2 × 25 + 4 × 25) = 30

3·y = 30

y = 30/3

y = 10
