Explanation:

The slope-intercept form is known as y=mx+c

y= the y coordinate

m= the gradient/slope

x= the x coordinate

c= y intercept

The y intercept is when the line crosses the y axis. The graph shows the y intercept is (0,-2). This means our value of c is -2.

Now we must find the value of m. The value of m is the slope of the graph. I usually figure out the slope by doing the change in y / change in x (by counting along how many squares). The change in y is two squares up and the change in x is one square along.

Therefore, the gradient would be 2/1. This equals 2 (so m=2).

Now, we can easily substitute these values into the equation given earlier. Therefore, the equation would be y=2x-2.
