Input data

A = (5, -6)

7x-12y=5

Procedure

First we must determine the slope of the straight line to make it parallel

y=(7)/(12)x-(5)/(12)

The slope of the straight line would be m = 7/12

\begin{gathered} b=y-mx \\ b=-6-(7)/(12)\cdot5 \\ b=-6-(35)/(12) \\ b=-(72)/(12)-(35)/(12) \\ b=-(107)/(12) \end{gathered}

The equation of the line that passes through the point (5,-6) with a slope of 7/12 is

y=(7)/(12)x-(107)/(12)
