Creepy Pasta, this is the solution:

Amount of the check = $ 260

• 3x = Number of one dollar bills (three times as many fives)

,

• x = Number of five dollar bills

,

• 0.5x = Nnumber of ten dollar bills (half as many fives)

In consequence,

3x + 5x + 5x = 260

13x = 260

Dividing by 13 at both sides:

13x/13 = 260/13

x = 20 (This is the number of five-dollar bills)

This means that the bank teller will cash the check with the following denominations of cash:

• 60 one-dollar bills = $ 60 ,(three times as many fives)

,

• 20 five-dollar bills = $ 100

,

• 10 ten-dollar bills = $ 100 ,(half as many fives)

100 + 100 + 60 = 260
