We have a point B(-8,1).

If a dilation with scale factor k=3 with center at the origin is applied, then the transformation can be written as:

\begin{gathered} (x,y)\to(kx,ky) \\ (x,y)\to(3x,3y) \end{gathered}

Then, the transformation applied to point B is:

B=(-8,1)\to B^(\prime)=(3\cdot(-8),3\cdot1)=(-24,3)

Answer: after the dilation the point B' will be at (-24,3)
