1) We can solve this problem by writing the following ratios and then cross multiplying

2) Note that we're going to consider 80,000 as the 100%


\begin{gathered} 80,000-------100\% \\ 90,000-------x \\ x=(90000\cdot100)/(80000) \\ x=(90000)/(800)=112.5 \end{gathered}

We can now subtract 100 from that 112.5


112.5\%-100\%=12.5\%
