180cm^2\text{ is the total surface area of the square pyramid}

Here, we want to find the total surface area of the square pyramid

From the net given, we have a square base and four triangles

The total surface area is the addition of the area of the square base to the area of the four triangles

The area of the square base will be;

\begin{gathered} s^2=6^2=36cm^2 \\ \\ \text{Area of a single triangle = }\frac{b\text{ }*\text{ h}}{2} \\ \\ \text{For the 4 triangles, we have; } \\ \\ \frac{b\text{ }*\text{ h}}{2}\text{ }*\text{ 4} \\ \\ =\text{ 2bh} \\ \\ \text{Base is 6cm while height is 12 cm} \\ \\ \text{Area of all the triangles = 2 }*\text{ 6}*12=144cm^2 \\ \\ \text{The total surface area = 144 cm}^2+36cm^2=180cm^2 \end{gathered}
